This is a wonderful place to get away from it all. We have been to Crete for the passed 6 years and the last 4 years we based ourselves at Kalives Village. We hire a car and spend 90% of our holiday time at Stavros. It is so peaceful and safe to swim. The little cafe on the beach serves basic refreshments with the restaurant just the other side of the beach road serving typical greek food. It is quieter during the week as on the weekend the Cretan people come out to play also. If I win the lottery I shall be heading to Stavros immediately.
