we stayed just outside gerani and found it a very friendly village the tavernas serve fine cretan food and the staff cannot do enough for you one of the most friendliest bars is Fazakerlys bar run by an english couple who are like a tourist information centre and made our visits to gerani village feel like we were not tourists but locals. Cannot wait to return
