Chania, Crete's capital until 1971, is now the spiritual capital of the island. Franked by the impressive White Mountains and a coastline of sandy beaches, the attractive harbourfront leads back through a maze of narrow streets lined with old Venetian houses towards the busy commercial center. The old, walled town invites the visitor to become lost among its theatrical bustle of shops, markets, taverns, bars and village street life.
The town is a beautiful puzzle of Minoan, Venetian and Turkish architecture punctuated by hidden squares.
Casa Delfino Suites is seventeen kilometers from the Chania International airport and is a fifteen-minute taxi ride. Souda Bay is the nearest port, at a distance of seven kilometers. Transfer arrangements can be made with the concierge for transfers between the hotel and your point of arrival / departure. Situated in the Old Venetian Harbor, Casa Delfino is an elegant 17th century Venetian mansion which has been carefully and attractively restored to become an exclusive hotel of just 21 new suites. A secluded entrance leads to a large sheltered courtyard of mosaic cobblestones where guests can enjoy peaceful seclusion.
Casa Delfino Suites consists of twenty-one high quality suites. Four suites are two-bedroom Deluxe and three are one-bedroom Deluxe. There are twelve standard suites, the Penthouse Suite, and the Honeymoon Suite. Each suite has been individually designed and stylishly decorated with custom made furnishings. All suites have remote control TV with satellite channels including CNN, NBC and BBC. They also have direct-dial telephone, deluxe bathroom telephone, mini-bar in room, security safe, and laundry service.
Business guests are provided with other special conveniences such as dataport, for fax and computer modem connection.
The hotel has a small stylish bar that leads to a sitting area, then out to the large private courtyard filled with trees, flowers, and an enormous cactus. This is where the daily breakfast buffet is served. The staff is friendly and helpful at all times, while the atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
