| We went in 2006 to Villas at Lake Kournas,(helen) we were the first in the villas on the hill overlooking the lake. Superb position, beautiful area, excellent property. Crete was so nice we are planning a return. Fully recommend the owner/villas.

| AMAZING one of the most beautiful natural lakes I have ever seen. nice little TAVERNAS around lake for good local food. If you are in area this is a must see site. Also, don't forget to check out the village of Kournas -authentic little restaurants and shops

| This beautiful lake is in the hills above Georgeoupoli - the picture tells it all - it must have been taken in the spring when the lake is VERY full. By the autumn there is a beach and the trees are no longer under water.
It is a quiet peaceful place to spend some time, take a coffee at one of the lakeside tavernas and enjoy the atmosphere. Stay a bit longer and have a meal - just enjoy the tranquility.

| We first visited Crete many years ago and it was love at first smell + sight for both my husband and I.
In Ocotober 2003, we stayed in this area for the first time. On the last day of our holiday we saw a 200 year old ruin, in December flew back to Crete to buy it, my husband and son went back in March this year to start the demolition we then went back in July to kick start the new build and are going back next week to visit our beautiful new friends and the family that have adopted us, so I think you can see what we think of this most beautiful land and wonderful people.
